One Piece Episode 1080 may see the Straw Hats facing another threat after enjoying some much-needed downtime in Episode 1079. This may indicate that the Straw Hats won’t be able to fight at their best since they just defeated Kaido. That might not be a problem given that they have Wano’s newly liberated inhabitants on their side.

What Happened in Episode 1079 of One Piece?
The aftermath of Wano’s release and Kaido’s defeat was the main topic of episode #1079 in the series. This is a reason for joy in Wano as the nation leaves behind the oppressive control of its previous dictators and begins to commemorate their victory and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the conflict. When everyone on the Straw Hats’ team has fully recovered from their wounds, they all take some time to celebrate by unwinding in a bathhouse with their Wano pals. The Five Elders discover Nika’s reappearance and learn of Kaido and Big Mom’s defeat from outside the Samurai realm. The navy sends the formidable admiral Ryokugyu to handle the situation, which indicates that another battle for Wano’s freedom is about to begin.

Since Kaido is no longer a factor and Ryokugyu is travelling to Wano, it is nearly a given that the admiral will show up in episode #1080 to attempt to impose the World Government’s rule there. Given the typical power of a marine admiral, this will probably be a difficult battle. Despite the fact that One Piece anime fans haven’t yet seen what Ryokugyu is capable of, if he has the same strength as admirals Fujitora, Kizaru, and Aokiji, he will be a force to be reckoned with. In addition, despite the numerous power-ups they received during that arc, the Straw Hats are still recovering from the Raid on Onigashima, which could leave them slightly weaker than usual.
Fortunately, the Wano residents will support the Straw Hats in that struggle, thus the conflict may not be as serious as it first appears. Included in that is Yamato, the formidable Kaido son who invited Luffy to join his group. One of the longest sagas in the history of anime would come to a close with this, which would be a perfect segue into the next story arc of the show. Episode #1080 will be thrilling to watch whether or not it ushers in a new age of One Piece since it is expected to unveil a new significant challenge that the Straw Hats must contend with.
On October 21, 2023, One Piece episode 1080 will be available on Crunchyroll.
