While Spears is said to be “focused” on her highly anticipated memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which will be released on October 24, a second source says, “Ideally, she would love to do a record and maybe a song for the book release.”
The Grammy winner hasn’t released a studio album since 2016’s “Glory.”
However, after a judge revoked her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021, she has released two songs: “Hold Me Closer” with Elton John and “Mind Your Business” with her frequent collaborator Will.i.am.
In May, Page Six reported that Spears, 41, had begun to discuss “recording again and has gotten plenty of offers, some of which she’s turned down” – including a collaboration with Beyoncé.
“The beauty of Britney being free again is that she gets to call the shots for the first time in a very long time, and she’ll do it at her own pace,” stated a source at the time.
The revelation that the “Toxic” singer is officially planning a new album, which “Extra” broke first, comes only one day after her spouse filed for divorce.
Asghari, 29, claimed that the couple’s divorce was caused by “irreconcilable differences” and demanded that Spears pay spousal support and his attorneys’ expenses.
The divorce has already turned ugly, with the personal trainer-turned-actor accusing Spears of cheating on him and telling pals that she viciously assaulted him while he was sleeping.
Furthermore, a source exclusively revealed to Page Six on Wednesday that Asghari is allegedly “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”
The “Crossroads” star, who has hired celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, has yet to respond publicly to the allegations.
Although, according to a source close to Spears, “She and Sam have made amends to move on a few weeks ago. She is in really great spirits despite everything going on.”
The longtime couple met in October 2016, got engaged in September 2021, and exchanged vows in June 2022.
Spears was previously wedded to Jason Allen Alexander, a childhood friend for 55 hours in January 2004, and Kevin Federline, a former backup dancer, from October 2004 to July 2007.
She and Federline, 45, have two boys, Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16.
On Friday, the 41-year-old pop superstar posted a statement on Instagram following Sam Asghari divorce filing says, ‘couldn’t take the pain anymore’.
