Samuel L. Jackson is frustrated with these billionaires who refuse to pay their taxes.
In a recent interview with Vulture, the Academy Award-winning actor showed his disappointment when questioned about his involvement in politics.
“I pay an enormous amount of taxes, and it’s fine because I know I should. But why can’t we get billionaires to pay their fucking taxes?” the actor said. “If those motherfuckers paid their taxes we’d solve a whole bunch of shit. And they would still be richer than every motherfucker walking around them.”

The actor from “Avengers” is not alone who shared his feelings. According to a survey of 5,000 US adults by the Pew Research Center, about 60% of Americans, believe that rich people “don’t pay their fair share” of taxes. The same is true for 61% of people when it comes to corporations.
The introduction of a wealth tax that is implemented on billionaires is said to have a significant positive impact. According to research from the Institute for Policy Studies, Patriotic Millionaires, the Alliance to Fight Inequality, and Oxfam implementing such tax could fund various initiatives of government, which includes the extension of the child tax credit and the US defense budget.
In a study conducted by the left-leaning Americans for Tax Fairness, 26 of the wealthiest people in America, which includes Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Elon Musk, paid an average federal income tax rate of 4.8% from the year 2013 to 2018. (This lower tax rate is in part due to the fact that the majority of their wealth is derived from assets rather than traditional income sources like paychecks.)
74 years old, Jackson, has never refrained from politics.
During an interview, the actor revealed to The Vulture that he started politics in 1996, when he was a college student, at the end of civil rights. He continued by saying that years later, hearing Donald Trump’s campaign slogan in 2016, “Make America Great Again,” makes his “blood boil” and that the “economic gap is crazy.”
“Being a certain age and looking at the world and identifying it for what it is and what it becomes, which is why as soon as I hear ‘Make America Great Again,’ I go, ‘When are we talking about again? Are we talking about back when we had apartheid?’ I grew up in segregation in Tennessee. I went to school with Black kids cause we couldn’t go to school with white kids. I saw Klan marches and Klan rallies. So I know what America used to be,” he said.
Jackson has not hesitated from expressing his views on the current condition of the Republican Party. Three years into the presidency of Trump in 2019, the actor expressed his opinions about the then-president.
“This motherfucker is like ruining the planet and all kinds of other crazy shit. And the people think that’s okay,” he said.
When asked by the publication, if he was concerned about angering some of his fans, Jackson ignored the issue by saying: “I know how many motherfuckers hate me. ‘I’m never going to see a Sam Jackson movie again.’ Fuck I care? If you never went to another movie I did in my life, I’m not going to lose any money. I already cashed that check. Fuck you. Burn up my videotapes. I don’t give a fuck.”
A representative of Jackson does not immediately reply to a request for comment.
